Mentoring role in a SCRUM team
On behalf of SITA WorkBridge, Hays is recruiting a Lead Developer to mentor, as well as be a fully functioning member of a SCRUM team. The company is a leader in the field of mobile resource management solutions for the airport handling market and its solutions are used by operators around the world.
Areas of responsibilities
As Lead Developer, you will be a part of the full development process spanning functional and technical design, infrastructure development, programming, testing and deployment. You will be entrusted with further development of SITA WorkBridge’s SW platform and implement solutions for their international customers.
Driving Agile processes and hands on SW development
Reporting to the Development Manager, your work tasks will include participating in daily SCRUM meetings and driving Agile processes. You will be hands on involved with SW development, including testing, back-end development, front-end design and further development and maintenance of products. In essence, you will partake in the complete project in a team where “everyone does everything”.
Additional responsibilities for the Lead Developer include a coaching role towards the rest of the team, participating in architectural and design discussions and leading the team when the need arises.
Product-oriented SW development experience
The successful candidate will have above 6 years of experience from a SW development company that works with enhancements and product development on a long term basis, i.e. taking one product forward and conducting development sprints; hence improving the system. It is essential that you are able to lead a team and have strong experience driving SCRUM-based Agile methods – preferably a SCRUM Master.
Additional requirements include a university degree, i.e. Masters Degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Sciences or similar. Essentially, you are experienced in C#, JAVA (and other object-oriented) coding, together with a good design and architecture knowledge. Fluency in verbal and written English is required. Experience with the Aviation sector and technologies like WPF, TDD, IoC etc. will be a big plus.
Balancing detail-orientation and overview
As a person, you are detail-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to coach and lead. Furthermore, you have the ability to maintain an overview of other team members’ tasks. You are interested and motivated to work in a product-oriented milieu and provide insights into product improvements.
