Operational Service Manager

Are you an experienced people manager with a solid foundation within operations management? Would it appeal to you to be overall responsible for managing, developing and optimising large projects servicing offshore/onshore wind turbines in the Northern and Central European region? Then you could be our new Operational Service Manager for the Service business unit at FairWind. As Operational Service Manager, you will have the opportunity to influence not only processes and tools, but also our quality mind-set at sites, thereby optimising daily operations and implementing supply chain methods. The position is located at our headquarters in Vejle, and you will be referring to the top management.
Overall responsible for executing all service projects according to budgets
As Operational Service Manager, your overall mission will be to manage all operations activities achieving economic and strategic goals linked to P/L for the Service business unit in the Northern and Central European region. Thus, you will be responsible for activities such as budgets, quality control, HSE standards, time schedule, scope of work etc. With your significant experience with operations management and your understanding of critical business result levers, you will be the key player we rely on to develop the company into a market-leading provider of servicing of offshore/onshore wind turbines. Furthermore, you will be reviewing opportunities to develop project management excellence in order to enhance profitability and support business growth. Other responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the Service business unit being operated in accordance with FairWind policy and applicable law
- Co-responsible together with the Head of Sales to know all contracts as well as linked terms and conditions
- Prepare and submit the annual operational budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
- Measure and evaluate service KPIs
- Ensure compliance with local contents, including social security, in a given country
- Site inspections and safety walks
You will be managing a team of four dedicated Project Managers, including the Blades department located in Denmark and Poland. Therefore, we expect you to be present at our office in Szczecin, Poland every second week for the first three months. Yearly travel activities will be approx. 80 days.
Technician with a passionate drive for development and performance
You have a technical educational background and experience within service project management as well as experience dealing with international large-scale contracts, and you might have experience from the wind industry. You have significant experience as a people manager, and you have an economically and contractually strong mind-set. Personally, you are a motivating and enthusiastic team player who thrives with challenges every day. You are action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible and have an innovative approach to operational management. Furthermore, you have excellent communication skills and a passionate drive for performance. Last but not least, you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
