Advisor to Regulatory Affairs

We are looking for a new colleague, who will join our Global Public Affairs team and take up this new position as Regulatory Advisor.

Your challenges

You will be part of our team that provides regulatory support to a number of our sales companies mainly in Europe in order for them to succeed in their work with regulatory issues.

You will participate in developing and sharpening our positions and you will develop specific input to new and existing legislation - also at a more technical level.

The tasks will include to:

  • Evaluate existing and drafted regulations on specific topics like energy requirement, indoor climate, safety and environment
  • Develop internal and external positions on specific regulatory issues including development and coordination of specific comments to legislative changes
  • Develop and do annual update of legislative predictions to products like roof windows, glazed roof construction, smoke ventilation, electrical windows etc.
  • Participate in internal projects in the VELUX Group focusing on legislative requirements to product development
  • Perform ad hoc support to colleagues in the sales companies in their work with regulatory issues

As you will be part of a global organisation you can expect to travel approx. 20-30 days per year. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy travelling and that you have the opportunity to be flexible.

You will be joining a strong international Public Affairs & Corporate Responsibility team of five colleagues with direct reference to the Global Public Affairs Director in the VELUX Group.

Our team is based in Hørsholm at VELUX headquarters, north of Copenhagen in Denmark and at the VELUX office in Brussels. You will be collaborating with our local Public Affairs colleagues in the VELUX sales companies, and you will be working from our in headquarters in Hørsholm.

The Public Affairs and Corporate Responsibility team is part of the larger Stakeholder Communication and Sustainability department in the VELUX group with 25 colleagues.

Your qualifications

We expect that you have experience from the construction sector, e.g. working with building regulations and regulatory issues of construction products or similar in either the public or the private sector. Your education can be as an engineer, architect or equivalent education including 2-5 years of experience from a position that match the competences for this position.

Furthermore, you find a global organisation challenging and you like to reach your goals and results in cooperation with others. Supporting colleagues in other countries and guiding them in their work with regulatory issues motivates you.

Your strong points are your experience and knowledge with building regulations and regulatory issues of construction projects. You understand the process with development of legislation and you manage to give input and comments to legislation in due time. You know how to evaluate the details in the legislation and have the ability to have a detailed dialogue with colleagues and legislators on specific and detailed topics.

As a person, you are a team player with a strong drive and you enjoy working in an international environment. You are result oriented with a natural interest for ensuring progress. Furthermore, it is important that you can navigate within a matrix organisation with many different stakeholders and that you can achieve results in this type of environment.

Competencies such as strong communication and collaboration skills as well as fluency in English both orally and in writing is a prerequisite since you will engage with stakeholders throughout our organisation.
