Textile Technology Specialist

We are looking for a new colleague for our Product Development organisation focusing on material technology and you will play an integral role in product changes related to all sorts of textiles and fabrics.
In this role, you will influence both our standard product assortment, set the future integrating new technology in the fabrics and support the factories implementing new materials. In addition, you will be able to put your mark on blinds covering our customers' needs for blackout, heat protection or light adjustment.
Your key stakeholders will be our European factories producing blinds, product development teams and the global suppliers of fabrics and textiles. Furthermore, you will be in close contact with procurement and external technology advisors.
Your tasks will be to:
- Be the go-to material expert internally
- Identify technology trends and implement the knowledge into new products
- Support production with focus on how to handle new fabrics and textiles in the processes
- Be a key resource in developing new products within textiles taking the interaction with other materials into account
- Develop deep and trustworthy relations to the global suppliers of fabrics and textiles
- Define specifications and test materials according to new test methods
As you will be part of an international company, you must expect to travel 20-30 days per year.
You hold a relevant technical degree, which you combine with at least 3-5 years of experience from a similar position e.g. as textile specialist, textile engineer or textile designer. Knowledge of how textiles and fabrics behave in a production environment including knowledge of fibers and woven fabrics will definitely be a plus.
Skills including production processes, construction, material knowledge and different surface treatments will also be an advantage, but one of the most important aspects is that you understand how to integrate your material knowledge into the conditions that influence production processes.
Your strong point is your ability to see new solutions and be innovative, while at the same time you have a structured and analytical approach to task solving always with a focus on how to create value for the business.
You see yourself as an independent person with a high drive, getting your energy from achieving goals.
On a more personal level, you are open minded, flexible with a forthcoming manner and a healthy sense of humour.
Competencies such as excellent communication and collaboration skills as well as fluency in English is a prerequisite since you will engage with stakeholders from different parts of our organisation, various cultures and external partners.
Reporting directly to the senior manager for metal and textiles you will collaborate closely with four other motivated specialist. We work as one team to achieve ambitious and long-term results, and we need your good spirit and commitment to meet our objectives.
