Project Manager - Offshore
- offshore installation of wind turbines
Do you have experience as a Project Manager in an international context, and possess a combination of technical expertise and commercial understanding? Can you see yourself as a part of one of the fastest-growing European actors in onshore and offshore wind turbine installation and servicing, with projects worldwide? If so, we have the perfect job for you as Project Manager in the offshore installation team at Global Wind Service in Fredericia, Denmark. You will be part of an organisation with a clear growth strategy and have a great deal of responsibility in a high-complexity position where you will cooperate with many stakeholders at different levels, internally as well as externally. You will report directly to the Project Director for Offshore.
Effective communication and healthy dialogue with installation technicians
Your primary responsibility will be to manage complex offshore installation projects, but to a lesser extent may also include responsibility for onshore and service projects. You will be in frequent contact with clients and must be able to proactively understand and stay abreast of customer needs. Your performance will be evaluated on customer satisfaction, project budget adherence, timeline and the highest safety and quality standards. Likewise, it is important that you understand how to structure information so that handovers from the sales department run as smoothly as possible so that the project organisation knows exactly what work to be performed. Thus, your main responsibilities will be:
- Injury-free execution of offshore projects in compliance with client contracts and obligations
- Customer contact, ensuring that customer requirements are fulfilled
- Project management from A to Z (from preparations and kick-off, to evaluation)
- Pre-start site inspection and site-specific agreements (e.g. accommodation and subcontractors)
- Planning and resource allocation (equipment and manpower)
- Manpower rotation and contact to affected employees
- Prepare, coordinate and maintain project documentation
- Regular contact with on-site employees; demonstrating 'visible leadership'
- Performance monitoring and follow-up; progress reporting to clients
- Control costs and follow-up on budget
Being responsible for offshore installation projects, you will have a very independent and challenging job in a highly international environment and industry - an industry that is constantly growing. You should expect approx. 40-60 travel days per year, mainly in Europe.
Flexible and structured project manager with excellent communication skills
You have a technical or commercial background - supplemented by a project management training programme. Coupled with your technical understanding, it is important that you are commercially aware and have customer management experience. You come with a few years of experience from a similar Project Manager position in an international context, preferably from the offshore industry, and have strong stakeholder management skills, as well as a readiness to juggle numerous tasks at once. Furthermore, you understand how to motivate and inspire confidence within the project team, in that you are informed and communicative, as well as hands-on, visible and personable, while being structured, persistent and solution-oriented. Contact with the technicians weighs heavily and is considered a very significant part of the position. Finally, you are highly proficient in written and spoken English, and perhaps equipped with some command of German.
