Tetra Pak A/S, based in Århus, Denmark, supplies and installs processing equipment and provides after sales service to producers of food products in our five main categories – Dairy, Cheese, Prepared Food, Ice Cream and Beverage. The Team and the Job

The Automation Team currently has around 18 members besides the team leader.  - the automation manager - together with 13 automation engineers, 1 technical specialist, 2 electrical engineers, 1 sales manager and 1 contractor covers our automation projects in the UK, Ireland, the Nordic and Benelux countries.

We would like to complete this team with a Senior Automation Professional who would be responsible for the performance of automation projects from order to customer take over, most probably 4-5 in the same time. This means to participate in the project planning, purchase of equipment, ensure all projects are delivered in a timely manner, in line with the project plan, the budget and cost constraints while following the Tetra Pak quality system. Besides coordinating the project, the Project leader will act as senior automation engineer, doing hands on work – software coding, PLC programming, HW design, FAT testing - during the project where it is required. There will be a strong cooperation with the process engineers, electrical engineers and also subcontractors. Also, this person will support with pre-project work developing quotations and later contracts. The Automation Project Leader will report to the Engineering Manager, on a daily basis.

The position is mainly office based which means the new colleague will spend most of his/ her time in our office in Århus, but a significant amount of travel, around 50-100 days per calendar year and the applicable flexibility is also required. When participating the commissioning, there might be a consecutive 2-3 weeks long business trips to customer sites and shorter occasional travels to other Tetra Pak offices for cooperation.

The Ideal Candidate

To become a successful Automation Project Leader in our organization you already have to have hands- on automation experience, developed in this area throughout your career and so far you became a Senior Automation Engineer. As all engineers in the existing team are managing projects we require you as well as the most senior member to have experience in managing your own automation projects, therefore you have solid knowledge and proven work experience of project management.

Our highly automated production lines are controlled by Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and from HMI solutions we typically use Wonderware.We deliver and implement full packages of automated solutions to our clients including the MIS and MES, which you will also have a solid experience in. Ideally you will come from the processing industry, from a food or pharmaceutical company. You are analytical, have great organisational-, interpersonal and problem solving skills. You are customer oriented and solution driven and lead by example. You hold a university degree and you have work proficiency in English and in one of the Scandinavian languages.

If you all have these skills and experiences we are willing to support you to be successful in this role as well as to grow within our organization and stay with us on a long run. You will be encouraged to get the PMI qualification, this position is a perfect bridge into a project manager role, an automation sales role or either you can go across to our Technical Sales organisation.
