Patent Attorney – Bioprotection

IPR responsible for Bioprotection
As Patent Attorney your overall focus is to protect the unique knowledge generated by Chr. Hansen’s many scientists. You will become IPR responsible for one of the company’s new and highly prioritized business areas, Bioprotection. Exciting challenges as well as ample opportunities for personal development are guaranteed in this position. Your primary tasks will be to:
- Take responsibility for the existing patent portfolio within Bioprotection
- Evaluate competitor IPR and perform freedom to operate analyses
- Perform patentability opinions, draft applications, prosecute and defend patent rights
- Prepare and support opposition cases
- Drive IP licensing agreements
- Act as IPR advisor and coach/trainer for Scientists working with Bioprotection
- Act as IPR expert in the Bioprotection Business Group headed by Marketing
Your two main stakeholder groups are Scientists and Marketing/Sales. You will support your scientist colleagues with IPR knowledge with a commercial and value adding perspective – e.g. understanding of what an invention is including when and how to protect it. You will support your Marketing/sales colleagues by managing intellectual assets that can be used to create value in the dialogue with (potential) customers and in the overall branding of Chr. Hansen.
+5 years’ experience as Patent Attorney
You have a natural science degree within e.g. microbiology, chemistry or biotech and at least 5 years’ experience as partly or fully qualified Patent Attorney. This enables you with a solid understanding of the value chain in a well-established, international biotech company, and you can apply your knowledge of how IPR create value to this.
With your ability to understand complex stuff and your good communication skills you can act as trusted advisor and coach within IPR related topics/projects and provide guidance. Naturally, you can ensure that all the tiny details are in place and deliver within agreed deadlines. You will join 12 good colleagues including 5 Patent Attorneys like yourself. We have a strong team spirit and share a common will to succeed. We value knowledge sharing and cooperation a encourage ideas and new perspectives on how to do things as smart as possible. Mistakes are allowed as long as we learn from them. We are based at the Chr. Hansen headquarters approx. 30 minutes drive north of the Copenhagen City center.
