Unique leadership position within highly prioritized therapeutic area

On behalf of our client Novartis, Hays is offering a position that provides the suitable candidate with a unique role as Franchise Head Ophtha for Denmark and Norway. The purpose of the Franchise Head Ophtha role is to lead the marketing and sales activities for a Business Franchise, including development and implementation of marketing strategies, goals and tactical plans to maximize sales and product performance for the franchise range of products across the country. Furthermore, you will lead and develop a team of Brand Managers (BMs) and Therapeutic Area Managers/Key Account Managers (TAM/KAM), Product Specialists and Medical Representatives.

Free boundaries, great responsibility and ambitious goals

The key responsibilities of this role entail development and implementation of strategic and tactical marketing plans. Besides obtaining a thorough understanding of the key market dynamics for the franchise brands across the country, you will be responsible for leading the budget process for the franchise brands in the country, for managing and controlling the performance of the franchise products and for proactively proposing additional actions to utilize new opportunities or corrective actions if the franchise is under performing. You will also ensure adherence with global franchise strategies and branding guidelines and secure franchise input on supply requirements to the logistics department to manage agreed brand inventory levels.

As a leader, you will ensure optimal cooperation between the franchise associates and support functions and develop a performance based franchise culture that values & recognizes a clear focus on delivering superior patient outcomes vs. simply selling our medicine (key focus in the global long term pharma strategy). You will effectively promote the product within the organization to ensure motivation and alignment and secure accurate logistical forecasting for the franchise brands.

Experienced and professional profile with a background in sales and/or marketing

The preferred candidate holds a University Degree in Sciences and/or in Business Administration and possesses 6-8 years of marketing and/or sales experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably including experience in brand management. Fluency in Danish or Norwegian and good written and spoken English is a must. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have well-developed planning and resource allocation skills together with strong negotiation and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical market together with strong leadership skills, including experience from staff management, is preferred.
