Your new role

On behalf of our client, AstraZeneca, Hays is offering two new positions as Medical Advisor within Oncology in Denmark. This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing Nordic and Baltic Medical Affairs Oncology team counting 18 persons, and characterize the oncology therapy area publically through scientific expertise. The function has developed rapidly during last years, and serves of vital importance for the organization. In the role, you will be provided with a high level of empowerment and achieve a close cooperation with key external experts and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). It is an extrovert role, where you will spend approximately 60% of your time externally focused.

As the Medical Advisor Oncology, you will act as a local oncology expert an be responsible for collaborating with HCPs and share important scientific information to help inform clinical practice and ensure the appropriate use of established and future products. In the role, you will be the driving force behind providing medical input to the strategy and clinical development of the oncology products. You will additionally contribute to international and regional studies with medical input on feasibility, choice of study centres, site follow-up and support, etc.

In order to deliver on strategy, you will enjoy a close internal cooperation with the Medical Affairs team, but also collaborate closely on a cross-functional level. The Medical Advisor will report to the Nordic Medical Advisor Team Lead.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in the role, it is all-important that you thrive with the profound science and evidence based therapy understanding, combined with the outreaching and communicative work. You must be motivated by being a key speaker for AstraZeneca within one of the company’s core areas.

In order to be taken into consideration for the role, holding academic and research weight are crucial. A Master’s degree within medicine, pharmacy, dentistry or natural sciences will constitute a favourable basis in our selection for the role. Experience within oncology or immunology will serve advantageous given the scope of the role. In continuation hereof, holding relevant experience from the pharmaceutical industry, in a Medical Advisor role or similar, will prove beneficial. It is expected that the candidate possesses significant knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry along with the health care system and payer structure of the Danish market. Fluency in Danish and English is a must.

Lastly, the mind-set of the candidate is all-important. You thrive with driving and initiating projects and possess a structured and organized approach to your work. Meeting with key opinion leaders and discussing science is an incentive, and building strong professional relationships internally and externally comes easy to you.
