We are searching for a Senior Brand Manager (SBM) to join our Nordic Gum & Candy marketing team to lead – with the support of two direct reports – our Danish as well as our Norwegian business, playing a vital role in driving and delivering our growth ambitions. Furthermore the SBM takes on a leading role across the Nordics when it comes to developing the brand strategy for our iconic Stimorol gum brand. Denmark is our fortress market in which we have more than 80% of market share in gum. In order to accelerate growth, we have ambitious plans in both driving the gum category further as well as exploring opportunities beyond and covering white spaces. The SBM is responsible for preparing, aligning and driving these exciting growth plans. Working cross functionally internally and externally, the SBM will lead the work stream to deliver across all metrics (P&L, consumer, trade) for the Danish and Norwegian Gum & Candy portfolio with a future growth ambition. The SBM will also manage the A&C investment to deliver outstanding communications plans & ensure we have the right strategies in place to deliver growth. Based in Denmark and reporting into the Nordic Marketing Manager Gum & Candy in Denmark, you will be leading the business planning, strategy development, communication activation and innovation launches of the portfolio.

This role is a crucial one in our marketing team and comes with great exposure and leadership responsibilities as one Brand Manager and one Junior Brand Manager will report into the SBM whose task it will be to develop them.

Primary Responsibilities,

1) Lead and develop 2 direct reports,

  • Provide guidance and support to two direct reports (Brand Manager & Junior Brand Manager)
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions through strong goal setting, mid-year, year-end discussions as well as regular 1:1 using powerful conversations
  • Ensure strong development plans for all direct reports

2) Annual Plan Development,

  • Leading situational analysis, strategy development and recommending growth plans
  • Developing financial bridges and aligning growth targets with sales company
  • Presenting and aligning plans with key stakeholders
  • Developing the trade sell-in story and exciting the sales team about the plans

3) Integrated Marketing Communication,

  • Full mix responsibility developing integrated 360 marketing campaigns
  • Leading cross agency teams from brief through to execution
  • Developing connection plans that are routed in strong consumer insight
  • Managing agency relationships – advertising, media, experiential, PR, digital

4) NPD Launches,

  • Selecting right NPD from Europe menu card to deliver against growth targets
  • Developing the launch campaign – marketing and trade activation
  • Setting launch KPI’s and tracking in market results

5) Business Performance,

  • Tracking business and market performance
  • Making timely recommendations on course correct plans
  • Providing updates for monthly business forums e.g. local business team meetings
  • A&C management to agreed budget & optimized ROI

6) Integrated Business Planning,

  • Lead annual target setting & marketing inputs to monthly forecast review meetings – pre-demand consensus and demand consensus meetings

Qualifications

Candidate Requirements,

  • You will preferably have a degree in Business, Marketing or Communication
  • Extensive Commercial & Marketing experience 
  • Team leadership experience
  • Passion for brands
  • Experience in consumer research, data analysis and interpretation  
  • Previous experience gained in FMCG marketing with an excellent track record in ATL & BTL
  • A good understanding of Nielsen and GFK
  • Drive for results
  • Standing alone
  • Develop direct reports and others
  • Organizational agility (Stakeholder management)  
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Influencing skills 
  • Strategic thinking or innovation management experience
  • Fluency in English, Danish clear advantage
  • Prior experience of remote management & working in a matrix organisation clear advantage
