Technical Industry Manager, Global Marketing for Chr. Hansen Natural Colors - Maternity leave cover – 12 months

For our Natural Colors global marketing team, we are looking for an ambitious and experienced Technical Industry Manager to support our expansion in the core industries focused primarily on confectionery but also on ice cream applications. 

Technical product development 

Together with the department manager (industry lead) and the global marketing team, your main responsibility is to support and lead the industry with up-to-date technical input related to the confectionery and ice cream market development. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the identified portfolio opportunities are brought to market (project lead), leveraged and prioritized by all stakeholders. Furthermore, you will own the confectionery and ice cream industry product range, assuring that the range fits the current market needs and the needs of the future. You will also work closely with our global sales organization, to both drive your industry marketing plans, while also supporting the major international key accounts with sound and up-to-date technical support, based on a close dialog with R&D. More specifically, objectives will be to: 

  • Support from a technical perspective the annual confectionery and ice cream industry strategy review and marketing plans  
  • Define together with the department manager and industry lead, the portfolio pipeline required for long-term growth based on customer & market needs 
  • Work closely with international key account managers and sales to identify new opportunities (incl. technical opportunities) with strategic customers. You will be tagged to relevant strategic customers in the confectionery and ice cream industry  
  • Provide in-depth technical advice and training at key meetings with major international key accounts  
  • Technical lead on major conversion projects where customers are converting from artificial to natural colors 
  • Identify and work closely with marketing communication to prepare the required technical sales tools and campaign material for the confectionery and ice cream industry. 
  • Drive new product developments according to agreed launch excellence process. 
  • Manage the industry product portfolio. 

Technical background and commercial mindset 

To have success in this role you have worked in a relevant industry and understand many of the drivers required to succeed as a B2B ingredients supplier to the confectionery and ice cream industry and it is also required that you have a MSc in Food Science or equivalent.   

You have a strong technical background, a commercial mindset, and a natural passion and curiosity to understand and analyze the technical drivers in your industries. You are able to communicate with both people working in R&D and with commercial decision makers in marketing. You thrive in the technical workspace between R&D, Marketing and Sales. You understand the needs of the Marketer, what motivates the people in sales and you are able to communicate this passion to the technical colleagues in R&D. You have an engaging personality and you are not afraid to get involved in both strategic as well as operational topics across the organization.  

The role will be based in Hørsholm, Denmark with many activities globally. As such you must be ready to travel approx. 50 days per year 

Maternity leave cover – 12 months

You report to the Senior Global Marketing Manager, Chr. Hansen Natural Colors.
