Senior Scientists for Formulation Research

Do you want to be part of a dedicated and innovative team? Department of Injectable Formulation Research is seeking two Research Scientists, who share our ambitions to invent the drug of the future which will help us improving the quality of life for patients around the world.

Global Research of Novo Nordisk specialises in the discovery of novel treatments for diabetes, obesity, haemophilia and other chronic diseases. We conduct our research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Oxford, Beijing and Seattle.

About the department

Department of Injectable Formulation Research is part of the protein engineering platform in Global Research at Novo Nordisk. The department is responsible for evaluation related to formulation capabilities of novel protein and peptide molecules as part of selecting the molecules that will become drugs of the future. Furthermore, the department is responsible for formulation development and preparation to support preclinical testing. We are involved in a large variety of molecular formats including novel, complex formats with challenging formulation properties. Our technological backbone is HPLC/UPLC, fluorescence and imaging, but we also have access to a large number of more specialised instrumentation, situated in the labs we share with the biophysical departments.

The position

Your responsibility will be to be part of a dedicated and highly motivated team with strong expertise and well equipped with state of the art equipment, to allow advanced formulation research and characterisation at a high level.

You will participate in discovery project-related research activities in interdisciplinary
teams including Biotechnology, Biology and Pharmacology across Global Research in Denmark as well as internationally with good opportunities for professional and personal development.

Your main tasks will be to develop formulations according to therapeutic profile and in alignment to delivery device. In parallel you will perform characterisation and analysis of protein stability. It will also be part of your daily work to secure intellectual property rights within protein formulation and design.

You have practical experience and state of the art knowledge within protein formulation, with experience with one or more of the following techniques HPLC/UPLC, fluorescence spectroscopy, light scattering or imaging of proteins and peptides. Experience with IPR generation of proteins and peptides is also an advantage. You should be qualified at the PhD level, have post-degree experience and a proven record of relevant research. Excellent communicative skills are required. At the same time your personal qualifications should include the ability to work in a team, to be flexible, goal oriented, innovative and have a good sense of humour.
