Customer Acquisition & Retention Manager

Would you like to work for a leading global media organisation? Do you have experience in customer acquisition and retention? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are currently recruiting a Customer Acquisition & Retention Manager to join the Marketing team in Copenhagen.

Turner International operates versions of Turner brands including TNT, Cartoon Network, Boomerang (amongst others) across the world. As the media landscape changes, the business is looking to drive revenues beyond traditional linear TV propositions and is looking to launch a kids’ subscription-based streaming service, with the Nordic region leading the way. 

We will be looking to acquire customers via both a direct-to-consumer and B2B partnership models. As the Customer Acquisition & Retention Manager, you will lead marketing efforts via our two routes to market, working collaboratively with the other teams across the business to drive success (content, creative, social etc), with the view to driving the day-to-day operations for subscription member acquisition, retention, and member communication. In this role, you will work collaboratively with other teams to drive user engagement and reduce churn through better communication and customer experience. You will be directly involved with acquisition planning, optimisation and reporting.

This role may be asked to support marketing with existing platforms and business, where needed. The role will involve occasional travel across the Nordic region and to our EMEA headquarters in London.

Key duties and responsibilities include:


  • Deliver multi-touchpoint marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and affinity amongst consumer and B2B partners (potential and existing), working with all relevant Turner teams (creative, programming, research, digital, social etc)
  • Work with the technology teams to fully understand product feature roadmap, to align marketing strategies against key releases. Also make recommendations to technology team for feature development based on customer feedback
  • Work with creative to develop assets that embody the brand and provide brand clarity for all stakeholders (internal and external)


  • Drive subscriber acquisitions by identifying prospects and lead consumers through ‘awareness’, ‘consideration’, and ‘conversion’
  • Execute customer strategies to reduce churn
  • Work with research to profile, segment and target prospects


  • Work with the distribution team to develop pitch materials to drive acquisition of partners
  • Work with new and existing partners to deliver their own consumer campaigns that drive customer acquisition and retention

Reporting and Adjustment:

  • Work with research to produce dashboards to track results against agreed KPIs
  • Adjust strategies and tactics based on learnings from relevant data analysis and customer response/feedback

Knowledge and experience required


  • Demonstrable track record in customer acquisition and retention for direct-to-consumer product(s), ideally within a media/SVOD environment
  • Experience in B2B partnership marketing, ideally within a media business
  • Media buying experience across all primary touchpoints, with a significant focus within the digital/social space
  • Proficiency with CRM software (eg salesforce) and marketing automation tools
  • Excellent communication skills across all tiers of a business
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent stakeholder management (internal and external)
  • Budget Management experience
  • Relationship building skills
  • Team orientated with a flexible approach
  • Self-starter & creative thinker with prioritisation skills
  • Able to manage a heavy workload and successfully see projects/tasks through to completion
  • Fluent in English and Danish. Swedish is desirable
  • Digitally/social media driven
  • Marketing expertise
  • Project Management and stakeholder management experience
