Head of Section, Contaminated Sites

Our department currently counts 90 employees. You will report to the Vice President of the department, and your daily work will be concentrated on your customers and the section you are responsible for.

Your daily workplace could be in one of our COWI offices in Aalborg, Aarhus or Vejle, alternatively at our headquarter in Lyngby. The position requires some travelling activity to other COWI offices in Denmark, which will be in the range of one to two days per week depending on which office will be the daily one.

Focus on staffing development and market

As Head of Section you will be responsible for the sections development, both organisational and professional, ensure optimal employee resources on the projects and general motivation in the section.

You will also be responsible for the development of new markets and establish cooperation across disciplines and borders. You will work in close cooperation with the relevant market managers, and you will contribute to achieving our strategic objectives.

Moreover, you will have either an active role as market manager or as experienced project manager depending on your skills and interests.

Experienced within contaminated sites and remediation

You have a relevant educational background at B.Sc. or M.Sc. level and have minimum 10 years of professional experience with contaminated soil and remediation assignments, including projects developed in cooperation with private contractors, property developers and large infrastructure clients.

You have documented successful experience in the following areas; people management, market management and project management.

  • You have experience in optimisation of resources and allocation between offices
  • You communicate openly, frankly and on time

  • You have an interest in counselling our customers at a highly professional level
  • You are fluent in Danish and English both orally and in writing.
