Our Beer & Beverage consulting business is expanding, and we are therefore looking for an experienced Lead Automation Engineer ready to advise on and design small and large breweries and other processing plants. You will be part of the Beer and Beverage department based in Virum, but with cooperation with the other offices of the Food & Beverage business areas, which are in Aarhus, Odense, United Kingdom and Australia.

Working as an Automation Engineer, you will become part of a dynamic team of Engineers who deliver consultancy and project solutions mainly to the Brewing and Soft Drinks industries and when needed, also in the Food and Dairy industries. It is an inspiring environment, where no two days are alike, and where the work is carried out with high professionalism and in a good team spirit. You will also be part of the network of Automation Engineers across other departments of NIRAS.
Your main responsibility will be to contribute to the overall solution and be working with design and supervision, as well as testing and commissioning of control systems for fully automated processing plants. This position does not involve actual configuration or programming, but rather scoping and design. A part of your professional duties will be the important role of advising the client and liaising with the suppliers.
- Be active in the development of standard automation concepts with focus on integration of process control plant with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Ensure planning and design of automation systems
- Prepare tender documents, evaluate tenders and budgets
- Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Test at the suppliers
- Carry out supervision during installation and establishment
- Assist during test and commissioning of new process plants
- Contribute to developing the relations with clients and relevant stakeholders
- Share important knowledge and communication within the group
You are motivated by achieving results through and together with others, and you are passionate about establishing and designing solutions for the customers.
We imagine that your educational background is an engineering degree or at a similar technical level.
You have an interest in understanding the processes and production for which you will design the automation. Practical experience from projects within the Food and Beverage industries will be an advantage.
You are interested in the development within the automation and you want to be part of shaping the future of the industry with terms such as Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 and Digital Factory.
Strong communication skills at all levels are important in this role, as you have interactions with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders. You can work independently and as part of a team and you are keen on working in a multicultural environment. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
