Can you take global branding lead by bridging R&D and commercial teams?

If you have a good combination of scientific knowledge and marketing experience, you now have the opportunity for the probably most exciting job in your career. At Chr. Hansen you will join a very successful, global green tech company in a role with major impact. As part of our newly established Plant Health division you will play a pivotal role in changing the agricultural world by branding our natural biological crop protection products as a supplement or alternative to conventional pesticides, globally.

Build and run a new global marketing function

We have the innovative green tech products to change the world but the world doesn’t know them. Basically, your job is to change that. You will build a new marketing function and ensure our products are presented and promoted as good as possible across all our markets globally. The idea is not to hire a team of specialists. When necessary, you will buy agency expertise.

Chr. Hansen’s direct customers are distributors of crop protection products and the end-users are farmers. To succeed, you must support the distributors with marketing materials and state of the art information from our R&D organization, communicated in a digestible format. You will work on three tracks: scientifically founded marketing materials of all kinds, SoMe and merchandise. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Develop a new global marketing strategy aligned with our commercial strategy
  • Develop solid scientific material to brand our portfolio of microbial probiotics globally
  • Develop SoMe marketing for our solutions that are sold through our partners
  • Design/procure new marketing merchandize
  • Interact with and lead external agencies, film makers etc.

Across your tasks you will work closely together with research and regional commercial development teams to understand and explore new scientific marketing material requirements and opportunities. You can look forward to travel approx. 40 days per year to meet colleagues, customers and partners around the globe.

Creative and strategic thinker with scientific marketing experience

As you will need profound scientific understanding your theoretical foundation most likely is a degree within natural science, e.g. microbiology or the like. Additionally, you must bring some years’ experience from developing scientific marketing materials that match product USP’s and customer needs. This includes hands-on skills within design and/or copy writing – in general you are a creative thinker with the ability to develop concepts and ideas for specific materials. You will also need business acumen and strategic understanding in order to set the overall direction.

As you will build a new function from scratch you will need an entrepreneurial mindset, a positive drive for results and a can-do attitude including the ability to try another way when meeting obstacles. Just as important are your collaboration skills – if you can’t bridge your colleagues across R&D and Commercial you cannot come through. Part of this is founded within your excellent communication skills in English.
