We are looking for a dedicated legal counsel who will focus mainly on legal tasks relating to securities, banking, pension and contract law.

Danish office and your role

Nordnet has an office at Havneholmen 25 with 45 employees. We are a young dynamic team that consists of the following groups: Pension Operation, Private Banking, Sales & Marketing and Customer Service. We are expanding and Nordnet will therefore move to a bigger office in 2019.

You will be based in the Copenhagen office and be the only legal counsel in Denmark and responsible for legal tasks relating to the Danish business. Once a week our compliance consultant will work in the office with you.

You will be part of our Nordnet Group legal team with 8 legal counsels; the 7 other colleagues are situated in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The Legal Department supports the business in all Nordic countries and cooperates closely across countries. Considering your background and good understanding of financial business, you will play an important role in the team and the company as a whole. You will report to our Head of Legal in Sweden but will work closely with the Danish management team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide the organisation with legal advice relating to existing and new products and services.
  • Handle complaints from Pengeinstitutankenævnet together with our local colleagues and the Complaint Department in Stockholm.
  • Monitor and spread information internally about new law and regulations.
  • Provide training of employees in Marketing and Customer Service regarding legal matters.
  • Represent Nordnet in Finans Danmark.
  • Review contracts with various business partners together with colleagues.
  • Take part in relevant corporate tasks and M&A transactions.
  • Negotiate and draft agreements with external parties.
  • Responsible for contact with relevant local Danish authorities.  

You and your experience

To be successful in this role, it is required that you have a few years of experience of securities law, banking law and/or pension law in Denmark. It is an advantage if you have worked with the area at a law firm or as a legal counsel in a bank or securities company. We are looking for a candidate with cand.jur or cand.merc.(jur) degree.

You have great interest and skills in communicating your specialist knowledge in an easily understandable manner to various stakeholders. You will work closely with the rest of the organisation and be good at finding practical legal solutions. You are fluent in both spoken and written Danish and English. Other Scandinavian language skills will be considered an advantage.

You have a good understanding for financial business and the risks associated herewith. You feel great responsibility and handle your tasks in a structured and organized way, ensuring high quality legal advice. Furthermore, you will be able to work and take initiative on your own.

We would like you to start as soon as possible. We will have interviews over the summer.
