Senior Medical Science Liaison

Vertex invests in scientific innovation to create transformative medicines for people with serious life-threatening diseases. Joining the global biotechnology company, you will play a key role as scientific expert on disease state concepts and Vertex products within cystic fibrosis, clinical and health economic information. The product pipeline is focused on infectious diseases, cystic fibrosis, inflammatory diseases and epilepsy. They are seeking to transform the way serious diseases are treated and in that matter we are experiencing increasing internal and external demand, and look forward to welcoming you into the dynamic organization where you will engage with clinical trials investigators, cystic fibrosis care teams, and patient advocacy group leads.

Your new role

You will enter into a field based role, where you will serve as an educational resource to healthcare providers by interacting with the medical community. You will establish and develop relationships with key opinion leaders, representing Vertex at medical conferences (internationally and locally) and initiate other global team initiatives. Furthermore, you will engage in communicating scientific information at internal meetings, clinical investigator meetings, advisory boards and through individual discussions with your highly specialized target group. Additionally, you will act as the local field expert within scientific, legal, competitive intelligence and regulatory matters. Reaping the benefits of understanding your organization you will become a trusted representative in the supporting of Clinical trials and Clinical operations by creating and maintaining open lines of communication with the internal staff. Moreover, you will respond to unsolicited requests for information on clinical data and therefore act as the primary educational resource on Vertex products by also being on top of changes in treatment trends that could impact the company’s products.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in this position, you must understand how to create fruitful working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from other cultures and professional fields. Moreover, you are naturally service-minded, collaborative and always seeking to find the best possible solution on how to complete goals within the allotted timeframe. You hold a science degree within advanced biomedical such as Medical Doctor, PharmD or PhD. combined with practical experience within Medical Affairs. It will serve relevant, if you hold experience of Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary diseases, Paediatrics or Oncology but this is not all-important. You have a natural sense of business and understand government and industry guidelines, regulations and laws. You own a valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 70%. You speak and write a Scandinavian language and English fluently.
