Your new role
On behalf of our client, GSK, Hays is looking for a suitable candidate to occupy a crucial role as Medical Advisor and become the scientific expert for the HIV therapy area. This area is of vital importance for the organization and you will be provided with a high level of empowerment in your job. You will enter into the Medical Affairs department and report directly to the Medical Director.
In the role, you will be the driving force behind providing medical input to the strategy and planning process - you will develop a medical plan in line with the brand plan to secure the right focus of activities and alignment with commercial and market access. It is an extrovert role where you will spend a significant amount of your time externally focused – entailing a broad communication, centred on interaction with Doctors and Specialists.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed in the role, it is all-important that you thrive with the deep science and evidence based therapy understanding combined with the outreaching and communicating work. It is equally important that you understand the commercial dynamics that impact the Medical Affairs function and the industry. You must be motivated by being a key speaker for GSK within one of the company’s key areas and enjoy speaking in front of a large audience.
In order to successfully occupy the Medical Advisor HIV role, it is expected that you hold a relevant educational background, preferably within a scientific field. Background within Medicine or a relevant Master’s degree combined with a PhD will be highly applicable for the role. Professional experience from the pharmaceutical industry in a similar medical function is an advantage. Relevant experience within the therapeutic area of HIV will furthermore prove valuable in our selection for the role. General solid grounding within clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science entails that you have the ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge within these areas. Fluency in English and Danish is a must.
Your communication and presentation skills are all-important in this role. It is expected, that you possess the ability to transfer scientific knowledge by demonstrating highly effective oral presentation skills in ways that are useful to individuals and groups both internally and externally. Relationship building comes easy to you, and you thrive with an externally driven role.
