Controller to Danchurchaid

DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for a Finance Controller to help in our work for the world’s poorest.

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join our finance department, which is a dynamic and busy department that handles a great variety of tasks within financial accounting and management, serving the organisation both nationally and internationally.

The department currently consists of 9 employees, and you will be a part of a smaller team of 4 colleagues, primarily working with budgeting and accounting tasks related to the daily operation of our country offices all around the world.

About the position:

Together with your colleagues, you will have a challenging and varied workday, where your primary tasks will be to assist, advise and carry out accounting tasks for some of our country offices. This involves quality control of budgets, accounting follow-up, quality control of annual accounts and supporting local accounting staff.

In addition, you will also have a role in developing and upgrading the accounting capacity of the country offices local staff, as well as to ensure the implementation of accounting policies and procedures. This will involve regular visits to the country offices to provide onsite training and ensure compliance with accounting procedures and conduct internal controls.

About you:

You either have a Bachelor of Commerce, BSc in Economics and Business Administration, Cand.merc., Cand.merc.aud or equivalent or work experience at the same level. You also have a proven track record working with similar tasks from a job in accounting, as well as solid experience using relevant IT tools. Additionally, you have strong written and oral communication skills in French, English and Danish.

The ability to understand the requirements and challenges associated with working across cultures and in remote locations is an added advantage.

You are open and sociable, have a flair for numbers, are able to work independently and know how to prioritise your time. You have a good sense for detail and accuracy, as well as being structured, innovative and service minded.

Payment and conditions of employment

Remuneration happens according to the relevant collective DCA-agreement. Work time is 37 hours per week including lunch break. As an employee in DCA you will get flex time, a good pension and lunch scheme and you can look forward to professional challenges in a global environment.

Start date will be 1 April 2019.

The place of work will be at DCA’s headquarters, Meldahlsgade 3, 1613 Copenhagen V, Denmark.
