Technical Business Controller with strong business acumen

The Job 

The Technical Business Controlling department is a part of Group Finance and is focusing on management reporting, performance reporting and forecasting for the Technical Division across Denmark, India and the Philippines. Furthermore, the department is responsible for improving processes, identifying and driving cost initiatives and supporting & advising financial decisions. 

As our new colleague, you will report to the Head of Technical Business Controlling and act as a business partner to TORM’s largest division. The right candidate will enjoy a role with the opportunity for vast cross functional involvement and insight in the whole value chain of TORM. You will act as the trusted partner to Vessel Management in Denmark and support their decision-making process and understanding of financials, providing analysis, reporting and business cases. 

Your responsibilities include:  

  • Controlling and forecasting of operational costs and capital expenditures  
  • Monthly reporting to the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team 
  • Participation in the yearly budget process and continuously reviewing the forecasts  
  • Performing reoccurring analysis of costs in close coordination and cooperation with important stakeholders 
  • Contributing to cross-functional projects within the organization 

To succeed in the job 

The ideal candidate is a forthcoming and analytical person with at least three years’ relevant work experience within controlling and budgeting as well as some project experience in cost optimization. The right candidate holds a relevant educational background such as MSc. in Economics and Business Administration (cand.merc.) or similar. Experience from shipping or another technical demanding industry is an advantage. 

Furthermore, you have/are:  

  • A dedicated team player with a strong drive who thrives when interacting with the business 
  • Able to present analyses and solutions to complex problems in a short and precise manner 
  • Ability to bridge financial data with operational insight  
  • Able to build strong relations with your stakeholders 
  • A strong user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, while experience with Hyperion Planning and Navision is a plus 
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
