Unibio A/S is an SME operating in the biotechnology sector with offices in Copenhagen, Odense and London.

Unibio has its core competencies in fermentation technologies and owning the right to a unique fermentation technology – the U-Loop® technology. This technology enables methane to be converted into a highly concentrated protein product branded Uniprotein® and has the potential to change the value chain for protein production and meet the accelerating demand for protein products derived from a growing demand for meat-based products.

Unibio’s vision is to decouple protein production from farming and fishing by becoming the leading producer of methane-based protein products supplying ingredients to the global nutrition market while supporting environmentally friendly production methods.

Unibio believe that science-based biotechnological innovations can provide answers to some of the world’s most pressing challenges and sustain the planet for future generations.

Unibio is operated from its administrative headquarters in Odense, Denmark, and has an international office in London. Unibio runs a lab and R&D and pilot facilities at the Technical University of Denmark near Copenhagen, and a demonstration-scale production plant in Kalundborg, Denmark.

Unibio is involved in licensing the U-Loop® technology in foreign countries for the production of Uniprotein®. The construction of the first full-scale plant has been completed in Russia, and negotiations with important players around the world are ongoing.

Experienced commercial profile to lead international development of   licensing sales and joint venture activities

From strategy planning to execution

In this newly established position, the CBO’s overall responsibility is the general management and development of Unibio’s licensing sales and joint venture unit.

As the point of departure, you set up the overall sales and organizational strategy, including KPI’s and growth targets, for the license and joint venture activities in close cooperation with the company’s CEO and other stakeholders.

Following from this, you build the organization befitting the projects and allowing the project groups to execute on the strategy, both in regards to new partners and in relation to the expansion of existing sites.

You will be taking the lead in the sales activities, to motivate your team as well as to ensure the achievement of the sales targets, execution of projects and follow-up.

In this regard, you build partnerships with relevant local licensing and JV partners, with whom you are in close contact throughout the process, from the initial contact and signing of the agreements, through construction of the plants, and the continuation of the relationship afterwards

You cooperate closely with the CCO in order to have off-takers available for Uniprotein before signing license agreement and before the construction of production plants.

You cooperate with the CTO to secure the preparation and execution of the technology delivery to the customer/JV

By the same token, you and your organization cooperate with all relevant members of the management team to optimize the sales effort and to deliver projects to clients on time.

Another interesting part of the CBO job is your participation in investor relations activities, e.g. taking part in fund raising in cooperation with the CEO.

You will become a member of the management team with direct report to the CEO

Deep licensing sales and JV know-how. Strong leadership. Experience with the Middle East, Asia, Africa, South America?

You have a minimum of 5 years of experience from industries such as gas & oil, pharma, medico, industrial biotech, where you have a proven record of successfully managing large international projects, establishing international joint ventures and/or negotiating large deals.

On top of your business acumen, you have leadership and management experience and you know how to build and motivate teams comprising technical and commercial profiles.

As an important part of Unibio’s geographical expansion takes place in the Middle East and Asia, you must have experience managing projects and/or setting up JV’s outside of the western hemisphere.

You should be prepared for international travel activity in the vicinity of 80-90 days a year approximately

You have a technical background minimum on BA level.
