Student Assistant in Global Drug Discovery Business Support
We are looking for a talented Student Assistant to our department with mainly focus on preparing and coordinating shipments of biological materials in Global Drug Discovery (GDD) and supporting/updating our intranet based on Sharepoint.
About the department
GDD Business Support is part of the Global Drug Discovery (GDD) organisation which is responsible for the development of new treatment options within the targeted therapy areas in Novo Nordisk.
We are a total of 13 dedicated employees with a variety of professional backgrounds ranging from technical to business. This mix is required to support both the Global Drug Discovery organisation and Global Research Technologies (GRT) counting approximately +1.300 employees located across sites in Denmark, US, China and UK. In addition to shipping support the areas of responsibility in the department are for project management of implementation projects, business ethics, quality, outsourcing, in order for the research organisation to deliver state of the art Drug Discovery. The tone in the unit is informal and we are a group of people that give high priority to maintain a good working atmosphere.
In GDD, shipping of biological materials across the world is crucial for the research flow in GDD. This is subject to considerable international legislation and you will be responsible for assisting the Shipping Coordinator in the department with the preparation and coordination of GDDs shipments, i.e. arranging transportation, preparing customs and other legal documentation and interacting with Danish and international regulators and GDD/GRT's international sites, all in close collaboration with the 'customers' in GDD/GRT.
You will be reporting to the head of GDD Business Support and be responsible for assisting the Shipping Coordinator on a weekly basis (3-5 hours/week) as well as driving the shipping function when the Shipping Coordinator is on vacation (2-3 weeks fulltime during summer and ad hoc during the year). In addition to this, you will from time to time be involved in other activities run out of the department such as updating relevant content on the SharePoint platform.
The right candidate is currently pursuing a Biology-oriented Science degree and you are on the second or third year of your Bachelor's. You are detail-oriented, structured, a fast learner, service minded, possess strong communication skills and you have an out-going personality. Further, to assist the Shipping Coordinator, you must be self-propelled and be able to take initiative while always performing your tasks with a keen eye on the detail. Most importantly, you work with a high level of engagement.
