Trade Compliance Manager

Do you have experience in trade compliance and can you lead import/export compliance projects? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you, in a newly created position, to implement a trade compliance program within the Alumeco Group.

The Alumeco Group is a group of trading companies with subsidiaries in twelve countries, all having great diversity of trading and cross-border movements. The Trade Compliance Manager will be based at our Headquarters in Odense, Denmark, as part of our Group Legal.

Your overall focus will be to develop, implement and continuously strengthen the corporate customs and trade compliance program in the Alumeco Group. Furthermore, you will ensure recordkeeping and create a well-documented customs control environment in the Group.


The Trade Compliance Manager will be providing regulatory interpretation, compliance initiatives, training and guidance in the Group. Your work task will include:

  • Lead trade compliance projects; e.g. AEO certifications
  • Coordinate and participate in regular and periodic compliance reviews, assessments and audits (internal and external) of corporate import and export
  • Serve as liaison with national government agencies/representatives for guidance, interpretations and resolvement of any trade compliance deficiencies (the "go-between" company and government agencies)
  • Develop, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, participate in external forums/conferences relevant to regulations
  • Collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the organization and the Group Companies, to ensure organizational awareness of customs processes and compliance requirements
  • Identify development needs to fill gaps (identify red flags in operations)
  • Direct corrective actions as necessary to follow measures

You should expect 25-30 travel days annually.


As a candidate, you have minimum 3-5 years’ experience in compliance and customs and/or logistics. You have preferably worked with product classification, import and export control licensing (e.g. Dual-use products and military applications), preference/non-preference origin management and safeguard measures.

Your educational background is most likely commercial law and customs counselling or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business of international studies, but can also hold another relevant educational background.

You have preferably knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0 as well as proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products. You are fluent in English and Danish language skills will be considered a plus.

As a person, you are analytical and organized, with the ability to apply theories to business transactions. You work with a high level of integrity, persistence and with attention to details.

You have strong communication skills, work independently as well as collaboratively and can navigate with various stakeholders in different countries.
