Your new company
On behalf of our client Danske Bank, Hays is looking for an experienced Data Centre Architect with a proven track record to join the Group IT to help set and deliver on the strategic direction of the department through the creation and stewardship of a high performing operations team. This is a unique opportunity to become part of an international and dedicated team of highly competent people in Solutions Design and Engineering, managing internal and external stakeholders to report on and meet SLAs, maintain and optimize the data centre and IT Infrastructure processes. Danske Bank is represented in more than 16 countries around the world who serve 3.4 million personal, business and institutional customers. In addition to banking services, they also offer life insurance and pension, mortgage credit, wealth management, real estate and leasing services.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Data Centre Technologies, the Data Centre Architect will be responsible for the compliance, specification and capacity management of Danske Bank's data centres. Leading the operations team and working closely with the solutions team as and when required. This will be done through the transfer of knowledge and coordination of teams to ensure that all parties within the data centre are aware of upcoming tasks, projects, tests and changes to the environment. Driving change and continual improvement is a key part of the role for the regulatory compliance, security and capacity management of the Bank's data centres.
The ideal candidate will be competent in regard to leveraging metrics, encourage collaboration and set the bar high to ensure the operational stability, maturity and future proofing of the data centres. Furthermore, it is crucial that one is passionate and have good leadership skills, thus, as a Team Manager, this role will take on training and development of employees in one's team. To add on, it is important that one lead by driving customer centricity, inspiring others to succeed and role modelling the values of Danske Bank.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this position, one must possess good capacity management skills. Operational and change management experience is required to manage daily activities across different data centres. Furthermore, it is central that one has a rapid grasp understanding of the existing environment.
One is required to analyze the delta between current state versus optimal end state, which is industry best practice for operational standards, processes, procedures, policies and implementation.
The preferred candidate is expected to have 10+ years of experience in a data centre environment.
Moreover, one has a great understanding for the world of MEP, Cabling and IT Infrastructure installation and capacity management. The ideal candidate has IT knowledge working with encompassing Data Centres, Network, Storage, Backup, Server, Virtualization and Cloud. Inventory control of racks, cabling, network and IT will also be part of the work tasks that will be part of the role as a Data Centre Architect in operations at Danske Bank.
On the personal level, one shall have a personal drive to bring out the best in a group of IT specialists. Thus, this is a newly formed team, a dynamic mentality to evolve the role and responsibilities is key. It is vital that one has a structured approach to your work and the ability to juggle more than one task at a time. Lastly one must possess the skill to leverage experience and best practices to enhance and evolve existing processes, procedures and policies.
