The team for you to join
We are looking to hire a Global Category Manager with experience from indirect sourcing to continue building on the solid sourcing foundation that has been created. You will join the Global Sourcing team at Chr. Hansen, which consists of 20 skilful and enthusiastic colleagues with diverse backgrounds located across Europe and the US. Global Sourcing is responsible for optimizing cost efficiency and business value for Chr. Hansen’s global operations.
As Global Category Manager, your core areas of sourcing responsibility will include some of our corporate functions such as IT and Facility Management. The exact scope will be discussed individually, in order to find an optimal set-up between your experiences and the rest of the team.
The position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Hoersholm, Denmark (north of Copenhagen), where the corporate language is English.
What would your role look like?
In your role as Global Category Manager, the most important responsibility is to establish and drive global sourcing strategies by utilizing your strong stakeholder management skills positively, by aligning and constructively challenging the business regarding identification of new cost optimization opportunities.
Your main tasks are:
- Development, implementation and compliance of category strategies
- Running of tenders, supplier negotiations and contract formalization
- Responsibility for suppliers’ commercial development and business performance
- Contribute to keeping supplier, KPI and other data up to date
- Take charge of joint identification of projects, alignment of priorities and setting of targets based on the Total Cost of Ownership approach
Other important areas include commercial risk mitigation, contract compliance, supplier development, and continuous improvement.
Who are we looking for?
Consequently, we are looking to hire a skilful, energetic and experienced sourcing professional with minimum 5 years of business experience from a sourcing position in a global context, who can strengthen our existing team with new competencies and ideas and support our ambitious performance targets. You hold a M.Sc. in Business Administration or other relevant academic education and/or work experience. In addition:
- You are business-minded and a strong driver able to align various parts of the business, in order to deliver sustainable results
- You have a strong strategic and analytical mindset, have good negotiation skills and good knowledge of commercial agreements and policies
- Experience in change management will be valued, as well as a good sense of humor
