Specialist, Scouting Excellence, Scouting & Venturing, Denmark
Do you have a broad experience in startup scouting and investment space? Do you have an aptitude for building and managing digital platforms? If so you could be our new colleague in Scouting & Venturing.
Scouting & Venturing is responsible for Novozymes’ external innovation engagements, building relationships within the startup ecosystem and assessing opportunities – investments, collaborations, partnerships, etc. – accelerating new biotechnology developments, solving worldwide problems and leveraging Novozymes’s leading internal Research & Development, fermentation and enzyme production capabilities.
We are looking for an experienced, driven and energetic entrepreneur-type for a specialist position in our team who will be responsible for helping develop and manage our center of excellence for scouting activities.
This is not your classic 9 to 5 corporate role. You will be part of a small team of highly accomplished doers with the clear objective of developing a world-class external innovation platform for Novozymes.
This position requires a can-do attitude and is suited for candidates that can be flexible, innovative and accountable while operating in the fast-changing biotech startup ecosystem. You will deal with tight deadlines and will be engaging with multiple stakeholders hence your ability to prioritize and negotiate will be crucial.
Your efforts will play a crucial role in connecting Novozymes’ scouting activities – technology and startup, external collaboration activities, VC investments, and business incubation.
The successful candidate will naturally have a broad experience from a range of different projects and business challenges. However, practical project experience within one or more of the following industries will be an advantage: personal care/human health, renewable energy/materials, agrochemicals/agricultural input, food/feed ingredients, biotechnology or FMCG.
The position is based in Lyngby near Copenhagen, Denmark, on local employment terms. The job role may require up to 10% travel per year.
In this position you need:
- 5+ years of work experience in a scouting role in a life science company OR a VC fund/PE firm.
- Proven track record in configuring and managing digital platforms. SalesForce hands-on experience an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders – internal and external.
- Degree in biological science or related field of engineering. Masters in digital innovation or business administration (MBA) is a plus.
- Directness, good communication and relationship-building skills, complemented by strong drive, initiative and results-orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills. Knowledge of other international languages will be an advantage.
- Extensive hands-on experience with MS office.
