We are looking for an experienced, self-driven and energetic technopreneur in our team who will explore, evaluate, and execute a new venture in the biotechnological application space. Sales & marketing and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. Also, the element of “co-creation with partners” is a critical success factor in this role.

The Scouting & Venturing team is part of Novozymes’ Research Innovation and Operations function. The venturing team's primary responsibilities are to identify and mature promising new business opportunities for Novozymes. Year on year the team has delivered ventures to individual Line of Business as well as Strategic Opportunity Areas for the company, following an AGILE and open approach to experiment new business models.

In this position, as Venture Development Manager, you will identify and create strong internal buy-in for exciting new growth areas Novozymes should pursue, and you will execute on these opportunities undertaking early-stage business-building and maturation activities.

The position is based in Lyngby near Copenhagen, Denmark, on local employment terms. The job role requires up to 30% travel in a calendar year.

In this position you need:

  • Very strong background in life sciences (both education and work-ex) and sales
  • Masters’ in biological science or related field, some hands-on R&D experience (in the lab, pilot plant or manufacturing site) is an advantage; MBA degree is a plus
  • 7+ years of work-ex (preferably in sales & marketing) in relevant industries including, but not limited to, Food and beverage, healthcare, cosmetics, environmental solutions, contract research & diagnostics
  • Hands-on experience in digital commerce is a big advantage
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills and even stronger urge to push the boundaries on what’s possible
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills as well as working knowledge of a couple of major European languages
  • Extensive hands-on experience with MS office toolkit (esp. Excel and Powerpoint), also strong interest and in learning new tools that helps in BD activities
  • Must have: A can-do attitude and the need to drive things forward. You are known for going the extra mile and taking full ownership of your projects
