Specialist – Software Platform Architect
Are you passionate about embedded SW-platform architecture and technical leadership? Can you ensure coherence in technical decisions and are you able to bridge the business objectives with the technical solution? Then you might be our new Software Platform Architect in our R&D organisation developing advanced control and monitor solutions.
As an architect, you will be responsible for taking lead in regards to defining the present and future SW-architecture needs across platforms and business segments. You will be taking early decisions about fundamental architecture and technology choices in development projects as well as identifying and mitigating technical risks in the projects. Together with the hardware- and product architects you will be defining the platform roadmap and ensuring optimal life cycle management across all product platforms.
Your primary tasks also include:
- Advising stakeholders on designs on short and long term
- Balancing technical solutions and long-term platform roadmap
- Early involvement in development projects with a focus on architectural topics
- High-level estimation of tasks and risks in projects
- Gatekeeping in technical solutions within your area
- Performing analysis and technology studies.
You will be part of an R&D organisation with 100 colleagues and will work closely together with specialists, developers and product managers. You will join the Platform Management team and be reporting directly to the VP for R&D Platform.
You have a relevant Bachelor or Master degree within Software-, Electronic- or System engineering, and minimum 5 years’ experience within embedded software- and firmware development, as well as minimum 3 years’ experience from a similar position with technical leadership.
You are able to build partnerships, ensure collaboration across the organisation and create focus. You have a mindset of finding solutions and not problems, as well as creating commitment across the teams with balancing the technical and business recommendations.
You have a big drive, are ambitious and set high standards for yourself and your colleagues. You work structured and can create an overview of challenges and solutions. You are respected for your professional knowledge and you are not afraid to manage complexity or take difficult decisions.
