Health & Safety Manager in Haldor Topsoe

Haldor Topsoe is an international company in a rapid development. Our headquarters is based in Denmark, but most of our highly specialized catalysts and products are sold to industrial plants throughout the world. We are looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead a team of 4 dedicated employees with focus on solving our local EHS tasks but also aim to set new and ambitious EHS standards for Topsoe.
The position requires a dedicated leader who retains the overview but also likes to go into detail when needed. You are highly skilled, think holistically and understand how to support the organization in getting the right processes in place, while driving the desired behavior of colleagues in the EHS field. You will report to the VP of Corporate QEHS, primarily working out of our Office in Lyngby.
HS Anchor point - local advocacy and running complex projects
The ability to positively influence people is crucial to getting safety initiatives off the ground. We expect you to be responsible for creating good relationships and motivation and participate in projects across the organization with a strong focus on implementation and results.
You will be member of the HS Committee and act as an anchor point between the HS Committee and the local health & safety work. The functional responsibility for local health & Safety work will be on your table as well as defining the resource needs and project requirements; managing and coordinating project participants accordingly. You create results through leadership and your daily tasks could look like this:
- Ensure compliance with local HS legislation, response to local management and issues
- Coordinate with local environment support, as led by FRS environmental group
- Work with stakeholders to support operations in R&D, traveling, technical sales and support and office environment
- Establish local goals and initiatives to promote ZERO HARM in the Ravnholm site.
- Ensure participation and leadership of the Danish HS representatives and AMU
- Ensure participation in and resources to the global health & safety work on committee level
- Drive local implementation of global health & safety standards, project and initiatives
- Ensure local commitment and resources to reach global targets
- Report status on progress (time, resources, quality and cost) on global initiatives to Director Global HS.
Solid ground in Health & Security, Leadership and Goal Orientation
You have a relevant scientific background such as chemical engineer or similar and a minimum of five years of practical experience in working with EHS in a large organization. It is an advantage if you have experience from the chemical industry and have worked globally with EHS.

Excellent cooperation skills and a pro-active approach to collaborators is key to your success.
As a person you are mature and outgoing. You are a strong leader who is capable of developing people; knowing how to coach and develop your employees effectively and optimize the collaboration in the department and across.
You obviously speak and write excellent Danish and English and are an experienced user of the IT and Office package.
