WWF Denmark is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our Arctic work
Do you want to help create real impact for nature and people in the Arctic region? Are you motivated by joining a global NGO working where it truly matters? And do you have solid experience in project management and coordinating complex programmes? Then the Project Manager position at WWF Denmark may be the right match for you.
WWF Denmark develops and implements projects in Greenland and across the Arctic in close collaboration with municipalities, local communities, knowledge partners, and WWF’s global arctic network. We are busy, and we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to steer us safely through our existing project portfolio and contribute to the development of new initiatives.
The position is divided 50/50 between portfolio management in the Greenland Programme and project management within WWF’s Global Arctic Programme. The role requires strong structure, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to drive progress and quality in projects with many stakeholders and high technical complexity.
Our expectations:
You have a relevant higher education and several years of experience managing projects with multiple partners. You can navigate between different disciplines, cultures, and actors and create strong processes and engagement in both internal and external collaborations. Experience from consultancy, environmental organizations, or public authorities is an advantage - together with experience in nature and environmental management, in an Arctic context.
You have strong overview skills, business understanding, and the ability to successfully deliver both smaller and bigger projects. You are structured, results-oriented, and a strong team player who can also work independently while delivering high-quality results.
Your qualifications:
- At least three years of project management experience, ideally from consultancy, advisory work, or environmental organizations.
- Experience with portfolio management and/or running multiple parallel projects.
- Experience handling stakeholders across disciplines, sectors, and target groups.
- Experience with nature and environmental management, preferably with Arctic knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Danish or another Nordic language is an advantage.
We offer:
- An important role in WWF’s work in Greenland and the Arctic—within the world’s leading nature conservation organization.
- The opportunity to lead and develop projects that make a real difference for nature, biodiversity, and local communities.
- An inspiring and international working environment with dedicated colleagues in Denmark, Greenland and across WWF’s global network.
- Strong professional grounding in both the Greenland Programme and WWF’s Global Arctic Programme.
You will be part of the Greenland Programme and report to both the Head of the Greenland Programme and the Director of WWF’s Global Arctic Programme. The workplace is Svanevej 12, 2400 Copenhagen NV, and travel is expected. The position is a 2-year position with possibilities for extension. The position is full-time (36,5 hours/week) and should be filled as soon as possible. For questions please contact Conservation Director, Agnete Schønau Winther: a.schoenau@wwf.dk.
